Matariki Inline Hockey Series opens with a Heartwarming Powhiri

Get ready to experience the excitement and spirit alongside our inline hockey community as the Matariki Inline Hockey Series began today, June 28! This vibrant event played in New Plymouth under the guidance of Willy Harvey the IHNZ Kaumatua, promises to be a celebration of sportsmanship, culture, and unity, bringing together players and fans from across the country.

The series will open with a Powhiri, the Māori welcoming ceremony that embodies the values of respect, togetherness, and the sharing of cultures. Our Powhiri ceremony will set the stage for the competition, infusing the event with a sense of heritage and pride.
