The Government has announced a 4 year plan of $265 million, with the first tranche of $83 million being made available in the next financial year (1 July 2020 - 30 June 2021) for the Play, Active Recreation and Sport sector.

Sport NZ has further clarified some of the details around Alert Level 2 with the following table has been published. As previously advised, the 10 person gathering limit does apply to all community sport and this limit will be reviewed on 25 May.

The government announced on Monday that New Zealand will move into Alert Level 2 on Thursday 14 May 2020. The overriding message is to keep it small, maintain social distancing and good hygiene practises.
